Our organization is an all-breed, non-
profit canine rescue. We received our 501(c)(3) status in February 2012.
Many of our core volunteers bring along years of experience from serving other Houston rescue groups. Our volunteers are compassionate, companion animal welfare advocates dedicated to contributing their time, skills, finances, and experience. In turn, their dedication helps save the lives of the abandoned, abused, homeless, neglected, orphaned, rejected, stray, and surrendered dogs in Houston's animal control facilities.
K-9 Angels Rescue Board members and volunteers are 100% VOLUNTEER and receive NO compensation.
Because we are not a shelter the
majority of our dogs reside in
pre-arranged foster homes.
Therefore, the only way a 'found' dog
can be considered for acceptance into our program is if:
(1) we have space available, and
(2) the finder agrees to foster the dog
until it gets adopted, and
(3) the finder pays for all vetting for
the dog.
Each of these requirements must be met in order to be considered, and even then it is on a case-by-case basis. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

K-9 Angels Rescue is committed to rescuing and re-homing shelter dogs in and around the City of Houston, regardless of their breed or their circumstance. We are motivated by the dire need to educate the public about the effects of irresponsible breeding practices, while helping the community by alleviating overcrowding in area shelters.
As we believe proper health care of one’s pet is a requirement of good ownership, K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted and altered.
